Effective
This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies used on primeserv.com. In short: we use only those needed to keep the site secure and working, and no advertising or analytics cookies.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local and session storage, work in a comparable way, and in this notice “cookies” covers them too. Some cookies are strictly necessary for a site to work or stay secure; others are used for purposes such as analytics or advertising.
The cookies we use
Our public site uses no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies, and it does not load fonts, social media widgets or trackers from third parties. The only cookies it uses are strictly necessary:
| Category | Set by | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Security and bot protection | Cloudflare, our hosting and security provider | Tells people apart from automated traffic, remembers that your browser has passed a security check so you are not asked again, and protects the site and its forms from attacks and abuse. | Short-lived. For example, __cf_bm expires after 30 minutes without activity, and cf_clearance lasts for the security-check period set for our site. |
| Form security check | Cloudflare Turnstile, on our forms | Confirms that a form is being sent by a person rather than a bot. Turnstile normally uses a one-time token rather than a cookie, and may also rely on the cf_clearance cookie above. | Only for the check itself, or as for cf_clearance. |
| Staff sign-in | PrimeServ | Keeps authorized staff signed in to our private dashboard at ops.primeserv.com. primeserv_device is set only if a staff member chooses “Remember this device for 30 days,” and lets that browser skip the authenticator code (never the password). Both are set only on that address, never for visitors to primeserv.com. The dashboard also uses your browser’s session storage briefly during sign-in. | primeserv_admin: 10 minutes while signing in; once signed in, until the person signs out, after 12 hours without activity, or after 7 days at most. primeserv_device: 30 days, or until the staff member forgets their devices or changes their password. |
Why we do not ask for consent
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive, the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and similar laws elsewhere, a website may use cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you request, or to keep it secure, without asking for your consent. Because these are the only cookies we use, we do not show a cookie consent banner.
If we add analytics
If we ever add analytics or other cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will use them only with your consent where the law requires it, give you an easy way to change your choice, and update this notice before they are used.
How to control cookies
You can see, block and delete cookies in your browser’s settings, usually in a section called Privacy, Security or Cookies; on a phone or tablet, look in the browser’s settings or your device’s settings. You can also use a private browsing window, which deletes its cookies when you close it. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will not stop you reading the site, but security checks may ask you to verify more often, and a form may not send. Signed-in staff must allow the dashboard’s session cookie.
For how we respond to Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals, see Your rights in the United States.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice, and its effective date, if the cookies we use change.
